2. Scope
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and visitors within STAC Marine encompassing all work-related interactions, including those conducted in-person, online, or via other forms of communication.
3. Definitions
- Harassment: Any unwelcome behavior that demeans, humiliates, or threatens another individual. Harassment can take various forms, including but not limited to:
- Verbal harassment (e.g., derogatory comments, jokes, slurs)
- Physical harassment (e.g., unwanted touching, intimidation)
- Visual harassment (e.g., offensive images, gestures)
- Bullying: Repeated, health-harming mistreatment of one or more persons (the targets) by one or more perpetrators. Bullying may include:
- Verbal abuse or threats
- Intimidation or humiliation
- Undermining work performance (e.g., sabotage, spreading rumors)
4. Policy Statement
STAC Marine upholds a zero-tolerance policy for harassment and bullying. Such behavior is unacceptable and will result in disciplinary action, which may include termination of employment.
5. Reporting Procedures
Employees who experience or witness harassment or bullying should report the incident as soon as possible. Reports can be made to:
- Immediate Supervisor/Manager
- Corporate service department
Reports will be handled confidentially, and all employees are encouraged to come forward without fear of retaliation.
6. Investigation Process
- All complaints will be investigated promptly and thoroughly.
- Confidentiality will be maintained to the extent possible throughout the investigation process.
- Employees involved in the investigation must cooperate fully and truthfully
- After the investigation, appropriate corrective actions will be taken based on the findings.
7 Retaliation
Retaliation against anyone who reports harassment or bullying, participates in an investigation, or supports a reporting individual will not be tolerated. Any acts of retaliation will result in disciplinary action.
8 Training and Awareness
The company will provide regular training to all employees on recognizing and preventing harassment and bullying. This training aims to create a culture of respect and awareness in the workplace.
