STAC Marine Achieves Seamless Integrity Test & Offshore Deployment of Main Gas Compressor

Last month at Naval Dockyard Lagos, STAC Marine Offshore successfully completed the integrity testing, preservation, and offshore transfer of the JGC/6 Ariel Main Gas Compressor (Charlie).

Stored since its delivery in 2022, the compressor underwent a comprehensive OEM-supervised inspection to confirm its readiness for installation and commissioning. Critical components including the frame, crankshaft, bearings, and cylinders were thoroughly assessed and confirmed to be in optimal condition, with all parameters within OEM specifications.

Following inspection, both internal and external preservation activities were carried out using OEM-recommended methods. The compressor was then secured with a triple-layer protective system to prevent ingress during transit.

The fully preserved unit was safely lifted, transported offshore aboard the Mayo Adige, and delivered to Mayo Abo for installation executed efficiently and without incident.

This achievement reinforces STAC Marine Offshore’s capability in asset integrity management, technical execution, and end-to-end offshore project delivery, while supporting operational readiness and maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
